Prior to going to Galway everyone I met kept saying how much they loved Galway. I have had a few instances lately where people rave about a location then I go and I am not overly impressed. I was worried about what I would think but on immediate arrival I was in love.
I knew that 72 hours wasn’t going to be enough time before I even arrived in Belfast. Then I got a stomach bug and when I arrived at my hostel, Arnie’s Backpackers, I died in my bed for the day. Ruining all my plans for the afternoon and shortening my time even more.
People said I was crazy to spend a January weekend in Vermont. The possibility of the weather being hard to deal with was inevitable. If I didn’t go then when would I go?
Queens is the most culturally diverse county in the world. I live about 30 minutes from there and rarely ever spend time in any of the neighborhoods. I recently watched the Anthony Bourdain special on it and was once again reminded why I am so lucky to live in New York. It also gave me…

Sometimes when I travel I feel like I am having life defining moments. I can feel things changing inside of me and also in the world. I went to Capetown just before major bombshells were dropped in my life and now I can see how much certain things meant.
My favorite states during the road trip were New Mexico, Colorado and Utah. The most beautiful landscapes would pass by as we drove. We planned on hiking in Bryce Canyon and staying there for two nights in a Tipi.
In retrospect I could have just lived in Savannah. Not continued the trip , moved into a moss covered house and enjoyed Leopold’s ice cream every day. However it was a mere 24 hours I spent in this lovely city.
I already had the pleasure of spending time in Memphis about a decade ago and knew it was the kind of city I wanted to return to. However I was itching to get to Nashville. As a huge fan of country music I was excited to see all the places I had heard about.
