One night left in Bangkok and I pick a hotel that might as well be its own city. If you are looking for some luxury or simply don’t want to have to leave your hotel, Asia hotel is the one for you.
I rarely stay in nice places. Usually they aren’t in my budget. However it is really nice to have my own room and bath. To be able to spread out and have alone time, something you don’t generally get wen staying in a hostel.
Asia Hotel probably hasn’t been redone since the 80’s but that doesnt matter. If the decor doesnt give it away the Elvis impersonator in the lobby lounge sure does. It is a bit cheesy but none the less charming.
It has its own enterance to the sky train so it is really easy to get to and from the hotel. Whether you are coming from the airport or just want to get around Bangkok they could not make it easier for you.
The hotel boasts two pools, four restaurants ( Thai and international, Chinese, Brazilian and Vietnamese), a bar, a bakery, a spa, a gym and its own mini mall. You would not have to leave if you did not see fit. It was perfect for my one night back in Bangkok before heading home to the states.
I chose to dine at Saigon the Vietnamese restaurant and was not dissapointed. The lace could use a bit of an update on the decor but the prices were not too inflated and the food was tasty, The service was flawless and the waitstaff was attentive. I wish I could have tried all four of the restaurants but I had to settle.
The rooms are fairly spacious. With two twin beds in my room there was also plenty of space for my luggage and cozy seats by the window which had a not too shabby view of Bangkok.
Free bottles of water( along with tea and coffee) were provided but most places you stay in Thailand, even the cheapest of places, provide you with water bottles. In the unsettling heat of Bangkok it is much appreciated.
The best part was how friendly and helpful the staff was. They were attentive and willing to help with anything you needed.
I always look for location, amenities and a helpful staff.
I’d like to thank Asia Bangkok Hotel for putting me up and being so gracious. If you are in Bangkok and would like to stay here please contact them here.
